Artist statement:
Daria Koshkina is a multidisciplinary artist and visualization researcher working at the intersection of data art and figurative digital art. Her work examines how stories shape us, what it means to pursue well-being, and how women experience the world through contexts like immigration. She specifically investigates how power structures, oppression, displacement, and hope shape individual identities, and how cultural narratives and beloved stories shape the frameworks of self-support. She uses animation, digital painting, and data art to explore how facts overlap with the subjective yet very real space of personal experience.
